Teri Gortmaker grew up on a farm in southeast Texas but in 1967 moved to Colorado to attend CU, receiving a B.A. in 1970. "My career as an artist has suffered from blank spaces over the years as often happens with mothers, wives and women in general but I have always found my way back to painting", says Teri. A signature member of New York City’s Pastel Society of America since 1993, Teri’s art has won several awards and has been juried into exhibitions at Salmagundi Artists, NY, Knickerbocker Artists, NY, International Association of Pastel Artists and Scottsdale Artists School Best and Brightest. In February 2011, Teri is featured in The Pastel Journal’s American Landscapes - A Pastel Painting Road Trip.
