Richard Fitzgerald

Nucla, Colorado

As a youth, the unique beauty of nature inspired Richard Fitzgerald who found the individuality of trees to be natural works of art. This native of Colorado, who always had a desire to work with wood, followed his dream in 1991. Richard uses a variety of natural materials including stone, antler and porcupine quills to enhance the natural beauty of the woods he uses. This self taught artist has been featured in Colorado Homes and Lifestyles Magazine, Art Talk and Wildlife Art Magazine. “I achieve satisfaction in taking a piece of wood that has been abandoned by life and turning it into a beautiful piece of art”, says Richard whose work is featured in many private collections and exhibited as a permanent collection at Winona State University.
