Sophy Brown

“Horses, as herd animals, are born to wear their feelings on the outside. I paint to capture the true responses of the horse in images of speed, freedom, alarm, work and exuberance.  In the horse’s alertness and physicality I recognize our common nature and a manifestation of what in us is often hidden and complicated.” – Sophy Brown

Sophy has shown her work in Colorado at the Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale in Denver (2008 - 20012),  the  Governor’s Invitational Art Show and Sale in Loveland (2007), and a one woman show at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs (2007) In Oklahoma, at Lovetts Gallery’s  Fall Perspective, October thru December 2009 In Arizona at the Cowgirl Up Invitational Exhibition and Sale in Wickenburg (2008, 9, 11, and 12). Sophy’s painting Greys was awarded ‘Best in Show’ at the Heart of the West Art Show and Sale in Lander, Wyoming (2008).
