George Walbye

Sculptor George Walbye has spent his entire life in the Rocky Mountains where men and women of the historic and contemporary west are frequent subjects for his sculpture. Using elements inspired by Native American art, their representation combines the art of the ancient with a sense of contemporary design, he has become especially noted for a series of bowls and lidded pots in bronze.
Walbye was one of five artists chosen by High Plains Arts Council to install founding works in Loveland’s nationally noted Benson Park Sculpture Garden. Walbye exhibits sculpture in shows nationally and was included in the “Living Arts: A Colorado Sampler” exhibition at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Profiled in the Nov/Dec 2005 issue of Wildlife Art magazine, Walbye’s works are in private and corporate collections throughout Europe and North America.
